Dear Colleagues and Friends

On behalf of the of the International Association of Sleep Research in Gerontology (IASRG), we warmly welcome you to be part of the Aging and Sleep 2017 International Meeting in Lyon, France from 29 to 30 June 2017. This meeting will focus on diagnostic and therapeutic processes that have, or will have, real clinical use in older adults.

The world's population is growing and aging rapidly. This unprecedented phenomenon affects medical practice and health care systems in developed and developing countries. Sleep disorders are known to increase with advancing age and to lead to substantially impaired health, cognitive decline, and reduced quality of life. In addition, sleep disorders play a salient role in increasing vulnerability to illness and disability and deserve more attention from the governments, policy-makers and health care providers worldwide.

The Aging and Sleep 2017 aims to offer you a diverse and high quality scientific program, with contributions from world renowned physicians and scientists in the fields of geriatrics, gerontology, sleep medicine, pulmonary medicine, cardiology, psychiatry and neurosciences. We look forward to meeting our colleagues from all over the world in Lyon, sharing scientific knowledge, forming new friendships and strengthening existing ones.

France's gourmet capital, with colourful markets, the rose garden of Parc de la Tête d’Or, outdoor music festivals, world heritage site of UNESCO and modern Confluence Museum, Lyon has a sophistication that makes it a hugely intriguing destination for visitors. We look forward to seeing you in Lyon.
